Riding the Rock Creek - Osoyoos Loop in the Interior of British Columbia.

Route Type: Loop

Time to Complete: 4 hours

Distance: 307 km (190 miles)

Scenery: 9/10

Twisties: 9/10

Road Quality: 10/10

Heads Up: Watch out for wildlife.

I’ve listed this route under the Central Okanagan map because it starts in Kelowna, BC—but it actually winds through three different regional districts: Central Okanagan, Kootenay Boundary, and Okanagan-Similkameen. That’s a lot of geographical variety for a ride you can easily complete in an afternoon!

From high-elevation roads lined with dense forest and endless curves along Highway 33, to lakeside cruising along Highway 97 through Penticton, Summerland, and Peachland, this route packs in a bit of everything. It also passes through desert hills and vineyards in Osoyoos and Oliver, providing ample opportunities to soak up wide-open views and enjoy some of the most scenic riding the Okanagan has to offer.

As a bonus, at the time of writing this post, long stretches of Highway 33 had just been repaved—so there’s plenty of fresh, smooth asphalt to ride on!

I respectfully acknowledge that this route is located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Syilx (Okanagan) people.
